How can the uprising be rehearsed? Standing up, sitting down, between the chairs? Albrecht Dürer's "fallen angel" hovers above the scenery, whose motionlessness is not to be confused with inaction. For he calls for play: "My left, left seat is free!" Sometimes an unoccupied folding chair becomes a vacancy and a place where hilarity and wordplay turn into profoundly sad melancholy. A collective solo that is not afraid to ask big questions in company. An evening to stand still, to stand up, to withstand.
In her 2019 collective solo piece, “Sitzen ist eine gute Idee” (“Sitting is a Good Idea”), which HAU Hebbel am Ufer presents as part of the Tanzplattform at Radialsystem, Antje Pfundtner in Gesellschaft (Antje Pfundtner in Company) asks herself and her audience the question, "What will you stand up for?"

Antje Pfundtner in Gesellschaft (APiG) hat ihren Sitz in Hamburg, produziert Bühnenstücke und initiiert kollaborative Räume. APiG besteht aus dem festen Kernteam um u.a. Anne Kersting, Jana Lüthje, Hannah Melder (Produktionsmanagement, PR und Marketing) und Antje Pfundtner sowie wechselnden Gästen und Kolleg*innen. Antje Pfundtner und ihre Gesellschaft wurden 2016 mit dem George Tabori Hauptpreis und 2020 mit dem Theaterpreis DER FAUST in der Kategorie „Regie Kinder- und Jugendtheater“ geehrt. Zudem wurde APiG 2020 mit der Ehrung des Deutschen Tanzpreises für „herausragende künstlerische Entwicklungen“ ausgezeichnet. Neben ihren Bühnenkooperationen entwickelt APiG Formate künstlerischen Teilens: Aktuell initiiert sie die „TISCHGESELLSCHAFTEN“, eine Versammlungsinitiative zur Vernetzung, Ressourcenteilung und Verstetigung von Wissensaustausch.

HAU Hebbel am Ufer is the host of Tanzplattform Deutschland 2022. From 16 to 20 March, the festival in Berlin will bring together 13 current and remarkable positions of dance and choreographic creation, made possible by funding from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media and Lottostiftung Berlin. Since its founding in 1994 Berlin is once again venue of Tanzplattform Deutschland.
