Biographies
Sebastian Abarbanell is a Berlin-based dance artist, performer, choreographer, teacher, and drag artist. Since graduating from Trinity Laban in 2015, they have worked internationally, including with Sasha Waltz & Guests. Their artistic practice explores queerness, embodiment, and transformation through somatics, groove, trance, and improvisation. They facilitate VIBRANT BODY, a weekly movement practice at Tanzfabrik Berlin. As Maximise, their drag persona, Sebastian expands their artistic practice throughdrag, movement, music, and performance art. Moving between nightlife and contemporary performance, Maximise explores queerness as a radical form of embodiment, celebrating transformation, excess, and the freedom of becoming. Their work challenges boundaries between dance, identity, and entertainment, inviting audiences into playful, unpredictable worlds.
Jaan Männima is a contemporary dancer and alternative drag artist. He began his dance journey at the Tallinn Ballet School before continuing his training at the prestigious Vaganova Ballet Academy. His professional career started with the Estonian National Opera, and since 2021, he has been performing as a dancer with the renowned company Sasha Waltz & Guests. In parallel to his contemporary dance career, he brings life to Antonina Ho, an alternative drag entity heavily inspired by the dark, unconventional artistry of the TV series Dragula. Operating under a distinct mask that hides her face, Antonina Ho merges theatrical secrecy with expressive physical performance. By keeping her facial features covered, she shifts all attention toward silhouette, movement, and mood.
Dominique McDougal, a native of Lakeland, Florida, USA, began their training in dance at Florida Dance Theatre in 2005. Later they received a full scholarship to study at the Alonzo King LINES Ballet training program. Throughout their dance experience Dominique collaborated and danced for artists including Earl Mosley, Brigette Dunn-Korpela, Ferdinand DeJesus, Carol Krajacic-Erkes, Lennie Meek re-staging Lar Lubovich Concerto 622, Norbert De La Cruz III, James Sewell, Amanda Miller, Gregory Dawson, Alonzo King, Sidra Bell, Renee Redding Jones, Kevin Wynn, Yuri Zhukov, etc. Dominique is currently freelancing in Berlin Germany, where they are primarily performing with Sasha Waltz and Guests. Lawunda Richardson, birthed from the Gay 90’s in Minneapolis Minnesota, is currently a resident performer with Tracey, Fluidity collective, Horsemeat Disco and The NYC downlow at Glastonbury. In Berlin, you can catch her bi-monthly show, Lawunda & Friends, at Tipsy Bear Berlin.
