Day two of the festival features electronic live performances by outstanding artists. Midori Hirano presents her new work “Otonoma”, which was recently released as a solo album. Critics have celebrated her boundary-defying works, in which her fine sense of harmony (from her classical piano training) merges with wild sound spectrums on modular synthesiser. In this way, she creates emotionally loaded compositions which are as dense as they are delicate, captivating us with warm analogue sounds and digital refinement.

Tomoko Sauvage’s minimalist set made of resonating water bowls acts as a natural synthesiser, which she uses to shape calm, nuanced soundscapes. The quadrophonic new work by Miki Yui develops delicate sound textures with synthesisers, samplers, and field recordings. These aesthetics are also reflected in Yoko Konishi’s electronic live performance.
