Der dritte Festivaltag konzentriert sich zunächst auf die mikrotonale Gestaltung des Tonraums und beleuchtet die Entwicklung dieser Klangsprache über mehrere Generationen hinweg. Neue und wichtige Werke von Pascale Criton und Marina Khorkova schaffen nuancierte Klangräume, die sich ausdehnen und aneinander reiben, während Jasmine Guffonds Live-Set das klangliche Potenzial von Datenströmen erforscht.

Anschließend präsentiert Electric Indigo ein neu entwickeltes Live-Set, in dem ausgetüftelte Beats und Klänge audiovisuell zu erleben sind. Im letzten Konzert kommt ein Werk der Multimedia-Künstlerin Merche Blasco zur Uraufführung, das der standardisierten Audiotechnologie den menschlichen Körper mit vier weiblichen Stimmen als polyphone Synthesizer entgegenstellt. Stefanie Egedy kombiniert in einer Konzertinstallation ihre Subwoofer-Szenarien mit den tiefen Registern von Kontrabassklarinette und Kontrabass. Abschließend vereint ein DJ-Set von Mieko Suzuki dynamische Beats und avantgardistischen Techno.

Panel III: The Electric Guitar between New Music and Pop
The guitar has lived in the shadows of both classical and new music to this day. It was only via its detour through pop and rock music and the new sonic spheres opened up by its electrification, that the guitar, now the electric guitar, found its way into current avant-garde trends. In the process, its playing style has been expanded, as have the possibilities of sound modulation and distortion, while in sound installations, the sculptural and iconically distinct character of the instrument is what often comes into play. This year’s Heroines of Sound festival will focus on current approaches to an instrument rich in tradition. The panel provides composers with an opportunity to explain their music to the audience.
