Composer in the Loop: Exploring AI in Music

How is artificial intelligence transforming musical composition? Where do the limits of collaboration between humans and machines lie? Will the singular quality of human creativity continue to exist in the future? These and other questions were the focus of ‘Composer in the Loop,’ a full-day event on 16 November, 2025, organised by Musikfonds e.V. to mark the first editionh of its grant program on artificial intelligence, funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.

Through brief live performances and installations, artistic strategies are to be presented that explore new ways of navigating AI in music while reflecting on the far-reaching social implications of AI technology.
