Hanako Hayakawa – Body Time Space 2025

Im Rahmen ihrer Body Time Space Residenz hat die Tänzerin und Choreografin Hanako Hayakawa 2025 insgesamt vier Wochen mit ihrem Team in unseren Studios gearbeitet:
“My interest in this research process has been in ‘uncontrollable bodies’: bodies that arise in the relationship between the body as it is seen, its subjectivity and agency, and the frameworks that seek to define it. Drawing from the scores in “Yūgi to Shōka” (“Plays and Songs”), magazines of early twentieth century Japan, and as a group of dancers who move across diverse collaborations, contexts and geographies, we engage our own bodies with the prejudices projected onto them. We thereby explore how these gazes can be used to open possibilities for playful, self-directed ways of moving that subtly disrupts structures of domination.” – Hanako Hayakawa
Hanako Hayakawa ist eine japanische Tänzerin und Tanzschaffende. Sie absolvierte den P.A.R.T.S.-Ausbildungszyklus in Brüssel und studierte zuvor an der Tama Art University unter Saburo Teshigawara. Sie arbeitet mit internationalen Künstler*innen wie Tino Sehgal, Miet Warlop und Leiko Ikemura. Ihre choreografische Arbeit ist eine Erweiterung ihrer Tanzpraxis und basiert auf einer Kombination aus ihren Erfahrungen als Tänzerin, Performerin und Vermittlerin. 2022 nahm sie am „made in Berlin“-Forschungsaufenthaltsprogramm im Lake Studio Berlin teil und erhielt ein Stipendium von #takeHeart für ihre Forschung „Killing scores“ und „Ghostly body-Research on Para Para Dance 2023“. Ihr erstes Solotanzstück „Lurker“ wurde im Oktober 2024 im Desingel Antwerpen uraufgeführt und hatte seine deutsche Erstaufführung bei den Tanztagen 2025 in den Sophiensaelen.
