Cultural events and activities for children and families
play a central role in RADIALSYSTEM V. The venue hosts regular
concerts for children with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester
Berlin and cross-generational artistic activities with child
care provision during afternoon events, as well as developing
educational opportunities for children and teenagers in
dance and music. The "TanzZeit - Zeit für Tanz
in Schulen" project, in which choreographers and dancers
inspire an interest in contemporary dance among children
and teenagers from Berlin schools, holds an annual résumé
of this work at RADIALSYSTEM V.

In the context of the current debate about the differentiated
and targeted nurturing of children and families, the RADIALSYSTEM
V fulfils an important social-political task by addressing
this issue and by developing tailor-made innovative formats.
Within the framework of the "Cultural Education"
initiative headed by the Berlin Council of the Arts, RADIALSYSTEM
V has become a sponsor of the Evangelische Schule Berlin-Mitte
(Evangelical School Berlin-Mitte).

Family Brunch
The Family Brunch at RADIALSYSTEM V has established itself
as a Sunday institution during which children and parents
can discover new things, play, and simply relax in a congenial
atmosphere. To accompany the generous brunch buffet, guests
can enjoy live music, handicrafts and the "Radial Adventure
Course" from the roof down to below-stage cellar, in
which children can play detective while exploring the RADIALSYSTEM
V building and become artists and performers themselves
in the process! During the summer there are regular stops
by the river cruisers "Oskar" and "Aphrodite",
inviting guests to take a short trip down the River Spree.

Werk & Werkzeug - 'Music and Instruments'
With "Werk & Werkzeug", RADIALSYSTEM V has
established a musical series aimed at older children and
adults alike. At the end of their rehearsal phase, artists
and ensembles present the fruits of their labour while a
moderator interviews the musicians about the music, their
instruments, and the composers. The audience is invited
to take part in the dialogue and pose questions to the artists
after the show.
Family Days at RADIALSYSTEM V
The "Radial Family Days" have been an integral
part of the RADIALSYSTEM V since its earliest beginnings.
One or two times a year during the Family Days, the entire
building is filled from top to bottom with a wealth of culture
in the form of music, dance and performance. The goal of
this event is to introduce both children and parents to
artistic themes and approaches in a playful way, and to
establish RADIALSYSTEM V as a space for enriching, challenging
cultural experiences that are accessible to children and
families.

Children's Dance Company Berlin
The Kindertanzcompagnie Berlin was founded by Sasha Waltz
& Guests in 2007. Since that time, two children's groups
(5-7 year-olds and 8-12 year-olds) train and rehearse regularly
at RADIALSYSTEM V under the direction of the choreographer
Gabriel Galindez Cruz.
Child Care
On the weekends there are regular afternoon shows, welcoming
especially children. For these productions tickets are offered
at a reduced price for children. Upon request, there is
also the option of child care for parents with younger children.
For 5 € (the price including a free drink), parents
can leave children between the age of three and eight years
with pedagogically trained staff. Requests for child care
should be made in advance at kinder@radialsystem.de.
